Rental terms
This is a boat rental, not a passenger transport service
When you book with VejbyExcursions, you are renting our boat for the agreed period. You - or someone else in your party - operates the boat throughout the rental. Anders comes along as your host: he gives a safety briefing before departure, can point out the sights and help with mooring, and may briefly take the wheel himself if needed for safety, but he is not a hired driver carrying passengers for payment.
Who drives
Swedish law does not require a boat driving licence for recreational vessels under 12 metres in length or under 4 metres with an engine above a certain output threshold - please check current requirements yourself, as rules can change. Regardless of the legal minimum, everyone operating the boat should be comfortable handling it; Anders' safety briefing covers the basics before you set off.
Responsibility during the rental
The renter is responsible for the boat and for operating it safely within the scope of the safety briefing given before departure, for the duration of the rental period.
Safety briefing
A safety briefing covering the boat's controls, safety equipment and basic handling is always included before departure, regardless of which package you book.
Damage and deductible
The renter is responsible for damage to the boat or its equipment occurring during the rental period. A damage deposit may be requested before departure, and the exact deductible amount and payment terms in the event of damage are confirmed at the time of booking.
Fuel
Fuel used during the rental is the renter's responsibility. Please return the boat with roughly the same fuel level as at departure, or fuel costs will be settled afterwards.
Cancellations
Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the rental start are refunded in full. Later cancellations, and cancellations due to weather conditions Anders considers unsafe for departure, are handled case by case - please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change.
